On July 27, Bonfire, a fediverse server and client written in Elixir, announces it is focusing on tools to build communities. In their post, they say that bonfire was meant to be more than another fediverse implementation. It was always envisioned to be a tool and support for organizing communities.

The EEF has been tracking the development of bonfire with great interest and specifically around community tooling. We intend to deploy it and discover if it can help our ecosystem. Let us know if you’re interested in getting involved.

Either way, check out Bonfire and see what they’re up to.
